Postal Inspector Class Action
This formal class complaint was filed on March 29, 2005 by Paulette Jones. The class complaint alleges that the U.S. Postal Inspection Service discriminates against African American females in promotion opportunities.
On September 8, 2005, the Agency issued its final action, dismissing the class complaint. The Agency found that the class complaint did not meet the requirements to be certified as a class action.
In October 2005, the Class Agent appealed the Agency’s final action. In a decision dated October 8, 2008, the EEOC Office of Federal Operations vacated the agency’s decision concerning certification of the class action. The EEOC remanded the case to the EEOC Administrative Judge, with direction that the Agency produce additional information that it previously withheld from Class Agent.
