Kerrie
Riggs is an Attorney with the Washington, D.C. office of Kator, Parks
& Weiser, P.L.L.C. She is a member of the bar of the Commonwealth
of Virginia. Ms. Riggs first joined the firm as a law clerk during her
third year of law school and has continued on to become an associate
in August 2008. In her time at the firm, Ms. Riggs has worked on both
individual and class action employment cases in federal court and various
administrative courts, including the EEOC and MSPB.
Ms. Riggs
is a graduate of the George Washington University Law School. During
law school, she was a member of the Mock Trial Board and a semi-finalist
in the Cohen & Cohen Mock Trial Competition. While in law school,
Ms. Riggs also interned for the Honorable Judge Richard Young of the
U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. In her third
year, Ms. Riggs took part, as a student attorney, in the D.C. Law Students
in Court program representing indigent defendants in D.C. Superior Court
for various misdemeanor and juvenile offenses. Ms. Riggs also served
as the American Bar Association Student Division Liaison to the Labor
and Employment Law Section.
Ms.
Riggs graduated with Honors from Purdue University where she majored
in Political Science and History. She was a Dean’s Scholar and
was nominated for the Outstanding Senior in the History Department award
while at Purdue.
Currently,
she is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the
Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association.
