Rita Siemion

Ms. Siemion is an associate with Kator, Parks & Weiser, P.L.L.C. in the Washington, D.C. office. Before joining Kator, Parks & Weiser, she worked at a plaintiffs’ firm on human rights, civil rights, employment, and class action litigation. She is licensed to practice law in the State of New York and the District of Columbia.

She graduated with honors from The George Washington University Law school, where she was a Thurgood Marshall Scholar, a Shapiro Public Interest Fellow, a Dean’s Fellow, and a Writing Fellow. During law school she clerked for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. While in law school she also worked as a student attorney in the GW International Human Rights Law Clinic on federal litigation involving claims of torture, targeted killing, and human rights abuses related to the War on Terror and completed the GW/Oxford International Human Rights Program at Oxford University.

Prior to law school, Ms. Siemion taught British Literature and English at a Charter High School for at-risk students in Houston, Texas. She also spent a year working as an HIV Outreach Counselor, providing HIV testing and pre- and post-test counseling services on the streets for marginalized populations, including homeless persons, sex workers, and substance users. Ms. Siemion earned her Bachelor’s degree in English and Philosophy from Seattle University, where she graduated from the Honors Program.

She is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association, and the American Constitution Society.
