Frances Johnson-Feldmann, et al. v. Department
of Veterans Affairs
EEOC Case No. 100-A0-7234X
November 2003 Update
It appears that we are still on track to receive the agency’s second (and final) settlement payment by the end of the year, possibly sooner. We are also hopeful that OPM will finalize processing the changes to the annuity payments (for retirees who elected this option) by the end of the year, although you may not see the changes immediately.
Once we receive payment from the agency, and notice from OPM that it has completed the retiree changes, we can begin the process of making the second set of payments. We plan to follow the same procedure as before: 1) sending out notices of your estimated payment (or your ineligibility of payment), 2) allowing you time to verify the information on which we based our estimate of your payment amount, and 3) requiring those who will receive payment but who have not sent us waiver forms to provide us with the waivers.
At this time, we estimate that sometime in January 2004, we will send notices to you about the second payment. Allowing time to contact “lost” class members and to receive your responses, we hope to be able to make the second payment to you by March 2004.
We request you cooperation in responding to our notices as quickly and accurately as possible. This will allow everyone to receive his/her payments as soon as possible.
